Travelling Abroad

Travelling abroad - within EU countries is permitted.

If you intend to travel abroad, the owner must be informed at the earliest opportunity in order to allow for the relevant documents to be obtained by the hirer.

Any hirer wishing to travel outside of the UK (OSUK) will be provided with an ‘Overseas Kit’. This will comprise of the various items usually required by law in European Countries – ie Hi Viz Jackets, Spare bulbs, Warning Triangle etc However it is the Drivers responsibility to ensure they have everything that is required by law for the countries travelling through.

The Insurance Policy and Breakdown Cover are both valid OSUK, however the hirer must inform the owner of their intention to travel OSUK to ensure the relevant countries to be travelled through are included in the insurance policy.

The hirer is also responsible for obtaining a VE103 Certificate. (Permission to take a hired vehicle out of the UK) This is available to apply for online through the RAC. The owner will assist with this process by providing details from the V5 document of the relevant vehicle, for you to make the application in good time. The VE103 is a requirement by law and must be produced to the owner prior to driving away the Camper. (2023 price was £8)

The owner will provide Insurance and Breakdown documentation to accompany the VE103 for the duration of your trip.
