Terms & Conditions

 

1. The Hirer/Drivers

Camper Vans on hire shall be driven only by the Hirer / Drivers stated on the Hire Agreement.

 

2. Documentation – As required for insurance purposes

a) The Hirer / Drivers shall be required to provide proof of their eligibility to drive the Camper (i.e., a full UK/EU driving licence held for at least 2 years). The licence/s must have a maximum of 6 Penalty Points endorsed and must be for minor road traffic offences with no previous disqualifications.

b) A copy of driving licence (Front and Back) must be provided in order to be checked and verified by using the GOV.UK website and a drivers’ licence ‘Check Code’ must be obtained by the Hirer and provided to the Owner for this purpose no more than 4 weeks prior to hire commencement.

c) The Hirer must also provide two items as proof of permanent address (i.e., Utility bill, credit card statement, bank statement) prior to collection of the Camper.

d) The Owner reserves the right to cancel the hire if, at the commencement of hire, the drivers’ licences are invalid or not in accordance to the required conditions, a check code has not been provided and therefore unverified or the additional proof of address is not provided. Or finally if insurance is declined for any reason by the insurer.

 

3. Insurance

a) Insurance provided for the Camper is Fully Comprehensive. (This cost is included within the Daily Hire Charge)

b) The Camper insurance includes a compulsory standard excess of £750 For Milly and £1000 for Billy. In the event of any accident or damage the Hirer will be liable for the respective amount. The respective amount will be required as a security deposit.

c) Personal effects are not insured through this cover. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to provide their own insurance to cover personal items. We would recommend travel / holiday insurance is purchased from a reputable company.

d) Any accident or damage incurred during the Hire Period must be reported to the Owner immediately.

 

4. General Care of the Vehicle

a) The Hirer is responsible for the care and security of the vehicle for the duration of the Hire Period and agrees to return the Camper on the date specified in the same condition in which it was received by the Hirer, ordinary wear and tear accepted.

This should include the Campers’ interior and exterior being clean and presentable.

The vehicle should be fully fuelled.

Both waste tanks should be emptied.

b) If this is not complied with and additional cleaning / fuelling is required, then any costs borne from this will be deducted from the Hirers Security Deposit, including a £50 hourly rate for labour.

c) Any damage to the Camper or loss of items within, caused deliberately, by improper use or by an act of negligence will be paid for to the full amount.

 

5. During the Hire Period

a) Should you experience any difficulties with the operation of the Camper during the Rental Period, please consult the information pack supplied within the Camper. If the issue is still unresolved, please contact the Owner.

b) The Camper will be provided to you in good mechanical condition. In the unlikely event of a mechanical breakdown, the Hirer is to inform the Owner immediately. Breakdown Cover is provided for the Camper. Should this event result in a shortened holiday the Owner will refund each complete day of non-use. The Owner shall not be held liable for any losses incurred e.g., missed ferry crossings, booked accommodation/activities, replacement vehicle costs or any other consequential loss claims arising from breakdown or accident.

c) Road traffic accidents and any criminal offence committed against the Camper i.e., Theft of or from the Camper, Criminal Damage to the Camper etc must be reported to the Police and to the Owner immediately and where necessary an accident report form completed. In the event of a crime, a Police Incident Number / Crime Reference Number must be obtained.

d) Incidents caused through negligence; wrong fuel, loss of keys, overhead damage etc will automatically be charged to the Hirer.

e) Minor repair goods i.e., replacement bulbs, lubricants, gas etc may be purchased by the Hirer following consultation with the Owner. Upon presentation of valid VAT receipts, the Owner will reimburse the Hirer.

f) Drivers incurring fines during their hire (i.e., Fixed Penalty Notices, Notice of Intended Prosecution, Congestion / Toll charges etc) shall be personally liable.

 

6. Fuel, Oil and Gas

The Camper uses Diesel fuel. And AdBlue.

The Hirer is responsible for checking oil, AdBlue, coolant and screen wash fluid levels during the period of hire; top up as necessary using appropriate fluids if required.

Gas will be provided to the Hirer for the use of cooking within the camper.

The Owner advises that tyre pressures and condition of tyres are also regularly checked.  

 

7. Smoking Policy

The Owner operates a strict NO SMOKING policy in the Campers.

The Hirer acknowledges and agrees that any damage, repair costs or extra valeting costs incurred as a result of smoking in or near the Camper must be paid in full by the Hirer.

 

8. Pet Policy

The Owner does allow ‘Well Behaved Pets’ to be carried in the vehicle but this must be notified and agreed by the Owner before hire commences. The Hirer acknowledges and agrees that any damage, repair costs or extra valeting costs incurred from a pet being in the vehicle must be paid in full by the Hirer. Your pet must be secured during travel – it’s the law.

 

9. Collection & Returns

Hire starts and finishes at the Collection Point unless otherwise agreed in writing.

No refund is given for the early return of the Camper.

The Camper must be returned by 6pm on the last day of hire.

Late return of the vehicle (without prior agreement with the Owner) may result in extra charges.

Please allow up to 60 minutes for both collections and returns. The Hirer is advised to check the Camper thoroughly upon collection before leaving. The breakdown or malfunction of equipment, after the vehicle has left the Collection Point will not be accepted as reason to abort or cancel the Rental Agreement. Any such fault will be rectified as soon as possible.

 

10. Security Deposit, Hire Charges & Payment Terms

a) Hire charges are listed separately.

A ‘Booking Deposit’ payment of £100 must be paid at the time of making the booking in order to secure the Camper for your Hire Period. By paying the Booking Deposit, you confirm you have read the Hire Agreement, the Terms and Conditions, the Insurance Criteria and agree to be bound by its’ content.

b) The Balance Due, is to be paid one calendar month prior to vehicle collection. 

c) The Security Deposit must be paid prior to hire commencement.

The Security Deposit will be refunded in full, usually within 48hrs, following inspection of the Camper upon its' return and providing the vehicle is returned in accordance with the above terms and conditions.

d) Insurance cover will not be provided unless the Balance Due AND the Security Deposit are paid. The Owner reserves the right to cancel the hire booking if any due payments by the Hirer are not met in full when required

e) All payments should be made by Bank Transfer.

 

11. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by Hirer must be notified in writing / email and are refunded at the following rates:

• Booking deposit is not refundable.

• More than 1 Calendar Month before hire commences: Balance will be fully refunded.

• 1 Calendar month - 2 weeks before hire commences: 50% refund of total hire charge

• Less than 2 weeks before hire commencement or No Show: No refund

If a Security Deposit has been paid it will be refunded in full provided no other sums are unpaid by way of deposit or otherwise.

 

12. Travelling Abroad

Any hirer wishing to travel outside of the UK (OSUK) will be provided with an ‘Overseas Kit’.

This will comprise of the various items usually required by law in European Countries – ie Hi Viz Jackets, Spare bulbs, Warning Triangle etc. It is the Hirers responsibility to ensure you have everything required by law when travelling through individual foreign countries.

 

The Insurance Policy and Breakdown Cover are both valid OSUK, however the hirer must inform the owner of their intention to travel OSUK to ensure the relevant countries to be travelled through are included on the insurance policy.

 

The hirer is also responsible for obtaining a VE103 Certificate. (Permission to take a hired vehicle out of the UK) The owner will assist with this process for you to make the application in good time. The VE103 is a requirement by law and must be produced to the owner prior to driving away the Camper.

 

The owner will provide Insurance and Breakdown documentation to accompany the VE103 for the duration of your trip.


The Owner reserves the right to refuse hire to any person without explanation or prior warning.

The Owner reserves the right to update the terms and Conditions at any time without notification
